About Me

Smiling man with short hair wearing a light gray collared shirt against a plain background.

Hi, I’m Trystan Conway.

I help Allied Health, NDIS and Aged Care providers build financially sustainable, operationally sound services that hold up under reform, workforce pressure and changing expectations.

After co-founding and scaling a national Allied Health organisation to more than 300 clinicians and $15M+ in annual revenue, I now partner with providers across Australia, from founders and small practices to large NFPs, national organisations and consulting teams.

My work sits at the intersection of strategy, operations and hands-on implementation. The goal is simple: help you make better decisions, build stronger foundations and reduce avoidable complexity without lowering standards.

My Journey

Illustration of a person hiking with a backpack in a mountainous landscape, featuring clouds, location markers, and minimal vegetation.

I began my career as a physiotherapist working across aged care and disability services. Over time, I moved into operations, service design, quality and strategic planning.

As a director and co-founder of a rapidly scaling Allied Health provider, I experienced firsthand what it takes to build a service that can survive and grow in a low-margin, highly regulated environment. That included navigating:

  • workforce shortages and retention

  • NDIS funding and pricing mechanics

  • aged care compliance and accreditation

  • systems, automation and reporting

  • cash flow, forecasting and margin pressure

  • constant policy and regulatory change

Those years shaped how I think about sustainable service design. They also gave me deep empathy for founders and leadership teams trying to do the right thing while keeping their organisations viable.

That lived experience is the foundation of how I work with clients today.

What I’m Known For

Providers typically bring me in when they need:

  • Commercial clarity
Margins, pricing, cost-to-serve, incentives and sustainable service mix.

  • Reform translation
Turning NDIS pricing changes and aged care reform into practical operating decisions.

  • Operational lift
Systems, workflows, onboarding, reporting, governance structure and delivery rhythms.

  • Founder and leadership load reduction
Stepping back without losing control, reducing bottlenecks and improving accountability.

What I Actually Deliver

Strategy only matters when it turns into decisions, systems and execution. Depending on your needs, deliverables often include:

  • Pricing, margin and cost-to-serve models

  • Aged Care reform and Support at Home transition work, including service models, pricing implications, workforce design and documentation

  • Operating model design, including caseloads, role clarity, KPIs and incentives

  • Workflow and system builds, including templates, dashboards, registers, reporting packs and lightweight CRM tracking

  • Governance and quality uplift, including practical policies, SOPs, audit readiness and continuous improvement structures

Why I Started Conway Consulting Group

Allied Health leaders are pulled in competing directions.

They need to deliver high quality clinical care while also managing compliance, funding rules, workforce pressure, cash flow and constant reform across NDIS and aged care.

I started Conway Consulting Group to help providers respond to this complexity with clearer thinking and practical execution.

Whether you are building a practice, restructuring a service line, preparing for reform, or trying to reduce founder load — my role is to bring structure, realism and momentum to the work.

I also support consulting firms, NFPs and government teams that need grounded, independent insight into how Allied Health, NDIS and aged care systems actually operate.

Independent and Conflict Free

I do not operate clinical services. This is deliberate.

It means my advice is:

  • free from referral competition

  • free from service delivery incentives

  • aligned only to your goals and constraints

  • delivered with full confidentiality

My role is to provide honest, decision-useful guidance that strengthens service quality, commercial foundations and long-term viability.
