About Me
Hi, I'm Trystan Conway.
I'm a physiotherapist turned consultant who helps Allied Health providers navigate reform, make better decisions and build lasting capability. My work spans NDIS, Aged Care and the broader Allied Health sector, with clients ranging from sole practitioners to large national providers, NFPs and government teams.
I sit between providers, government and the people they serve. My advice is independent, confidential and grounded in lived experience.
My Story
I started my career as a physiotherapist working in aged care and disability. I quickly realised I was better at the things clinicians aren't typically taught: leadership, systems, operations and the commercial side of running a service.
That led me to co-found a national Allied Health provider. Over several years we scaled to more than 300 clinicians and $15M+ in annual revenue. I learned what it takes to build and sustain a service in a low-margin, highly regulated environment, and I experienced firsthand the competing pressures of clinical quality, workforce shortages, compliance, cash flow and constant reform.
In early 2025 I stepped away to start Conway Consulting Group. I could see that Allied Health providers were navigating enormous complexity with very little independent, sector-specific strategic support. Most of what existed was generic business coaching or consulting that didn't understand the realities of running a clinical service.
I wanted to fill that gap. Practical, grounded advisory from someone who has actually built and scaled in this sector. Someone with no competing clinical business, no conflicts and no agenda other than helping providers make better decisions.
How I Work
I'm a physio at heart. That means I take a capacity-building approach. I build your team's capability so you need me less over time, not more. No lock-ins, no dependency models, no minimum commitments.
I describe myself as a resource for you to use when and if you need me. Some clients speak to me weekly. Others go months between conversations. Both are fine.
I keep my client list private and everything shared with me stays strictly confidential. I don't run group programs. When you work with me, you get honest, independent input tailored to your situation.
I work across mentoring, retainers, fixed-scope projects, ad hoc consulting and speaking. The format fits the need, not the other way around.
My mission
I help Allied Health businesses solve complex problems, navigate reform and think more strategically. My goal is to build the sector's capacity to be more valued, better led and more successful.
My vision
To be the most trusted strategic voice in Allied Health. An independent perspective between providers, government and the people they serve. Sought after for the hardest problems, and committed to helping ethical providers thrive.
