HPSS Award Rate Finder
The Health Professionals and Support Services Award replaced its pay point structure for health professionals on 1 October 2026, with the new rates phased in over five stages to 2030. Start with what the person does and it returns the Stage 1 minimum.
What changed on 1 October
Why the pay points went, how a qualification level and years of experience now set a minimum, what sits on top of it, and what to check in the first affected pay run.
Where these figures come from
Stage 1 rates are set by the Fair Work Commission's determination PR814029, made on 7 September 2026, which varies the award from 1 October 2026. Its rates are identical to the draft these figures were first taken from. The later stages are the Commission's published schedule and are not yet in the award.
The staged weekly rates for all five stages come from the appendix to [2026] FWCFB 216, a statement of the Fair Work Commission issued on 14 August 2026, PR813228. Stage 1 is inclusive of the Annual Wage Review 2026.
Professions, AQF levels and the classification descriptors come from Schedule B.3 and clauses A.2.1 to A.2.4 of the determination annexed to [2026] FWCFB 123, a decision of the Fair Work Commission issued on 26 May 2026, PR810342. The award is the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020, MA000027. Qualification types come from the Australian Qualifications Framework.
This page sets out what the award provides. I am not an HR advisor or an employment lawyer, and this is not legal or industrial relations advice. It does not decide a classification, which turns on the work an individual performs and on facts this page cannot see. The operative document is the award as varied, and a classification decision is one to take with your own HR or employment law advisor.
